National Weather Service has issued a tornado watch for most of Middle Tennessee, including Wilson county, until 6 p.m.

A tornado watch means weather conditions exist that could producing tornadic activity.

Severe thunderstorms are advancing quickly from the west with conditions that could produce super cells and spawn tornadoes.

All of Middle Tennessee, including Wilson County, is under a tornado watch until 10 p.m. tonight, according to the Nashville office of the National Weather Service.

A tornado watch means weather conditions are right for producing a tornado. A more critical tornado warning is issued when a tornado has been detected.

The tornado watch results from a cold front moving southeast from Kentucky bringing heavy rain and some thunderstorms.

The cold front will produce much colder temperatures Thursday.
