Leading voices in the field of sustainable business practices will convene in Nashville this spring for the fourth annual Green Business Summit hosted by Lipscomb University’s Institute for Sustainable Practice. The Summit: Innovations in Sustainability, is being held at the Nashville Convention Center on April 21-22 and will feature L. Hunter Lovins, speaking about her new book, Climate Capitalism, which is set for release April 12 and shows how innovators, entrepreneurs and companies are proving that you can profit from sustainability.
The Summit will provide a platform for business leaders to explore business models, best practices and opportunities to succeed in an increasingly “green” environment.
Highlights of the Summit include:
  • Dynamic workshops and keynote speakers
    • Breakout sessions aimed at specific business segments and interests
    • Keynotes by L. Hunter Lovins of Natural Capitalism Solutions and Wal-Mart’s Don Moseley

About the Institute
Lipscomb University’s Institute for Sustainable Practice (ISP) offers an undergraduate major and minor in sustainability with an emphasis in the natural sciences, business and environmental management. The Institute also offers graduate studies and certificates in sustainability allowing recent college graduates and experienced career professionals to specialize in the rapidly emerging profession. The ISP is one of six specialized institutes at the university, an institution which delivers a complete liberal arts education characterized by an integration of Christian faith and practice with academic excellence.

The first annual Living Well Sustainable Marketplace will be held Friday, Earth Day
April 22, and Saturday April 23, 2011 at the Nashville Convention Center. Free to the public, when
they come to the show with a recyclable item. This fun and entertaining two-day marketplace is
designed to empower attendees to become more thoughtful consumers and lessen their impact on the
environment. We teach how the simple changes that you can make in your daily routine can impact
your whole life.

The Marketplace features over 130 exhibiting companies, and 13 Specialty Areas. 
• Whole Living House featuring ways to shrink your impact on the environment and your pocket book
through minor changes, energy conservation, and solar power. 
• The Recycling Center, come learn how, where, and what to recycle.  
• Whole Health Center will include everything from herbal supplements to acupuncture, and everything in
between. 
• Planet Kids, created for kids by kids. We are working with local Elementary, Middle & High School Green
Teams to maximize this space with inspiration for the next generation. This area is a creative place for
interaction, exploration, hands on activities, about renewable energy, how to grow your own food, wildlife,
and most important that being healthy is fun!
• Sustainable Lifestyle Stage will include an Eco-Chic Fashion Show featuring the latest fashions, and
accessories in Sustainable Apparel. We will teach how to Re-use, & Re-purpose to make runway worthy
wear. Cooking Demo’s on how to use locally grown in season faire to create simple, delicious meals for
your family.
• Food Market Sampling food and drinks featuring local farmers, eateries, cafes, and fair trade coffees.
• Free Educational Seminars: Featuring How To classes taught by Local Innovative Environmental
Activist on topics ranging from energy conservation, electric vehicles, and Eco-Labels - How to Judge by
the cover.
